A celebration of life in merino and oak
Over the years I’ve pulled myself away from making wearable creations just a few times to make things to adorn the home. This piece was finished in 2018 in celebration of Dia de los Muertos and has been residing in Desert Archaic gallery until now.
The swirling forms surrounding the skull, abstractly floral, fungal and human, were sculpturally felted from merino wool which is mounted onto a plank of smoothly sanded oak. The oak plank measures 7 3/4 inches (20 cm) wide x 15 inches (38 cm) tall. On the back is a keyhole hanger so it can be easily hung on the wall.
